Parker had her "GOLDEN" birthday this year! 5 years old on the 5th of September! I don't even know what to say about this occurrence other than my heart feels like it's going to explode a little bit. The time goes by too quickly y'all. That is all there is to say about it.
Her GOLDEN birthday coincided with her 1st day of preschool at Chipp-uh-wuh, creating what could easily go down in history as THE BEST DAY EVER!! She was so thrilled to be able to celebrate her big day with her buddies from last year and beloved teachers. Plus, I got to be the "mommy helper", and we brought in birthday treats and it was just a great time all around.
Parker's biggest wishes for her birthday were to get a Tiana doll and cowgirl boots with a sheriff badge. What can I say, she's an eclectic 5 year old girl who marches to the beat of her own drum. For sure!!
We have a tradition of doing a BIG BIRTHDAY PARTY for the 5th birthday, so when we asked Parker what kind of a party she wanted, she didn't hesitate to say, "CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS!!!!!!" As many of you know, this is one of her all-time favorite movies, so we couldn't resist. At times I thought a Frozen party or a Princess party would have been a heck of a lot easier to figure out, but at the same time I knew that Parker would be thrilled to see the finished product. And I must admit, the challenge was kind of fun!! (That is, it was fun until after the party ended, and we all came down with the worst cough/cold virus of ALL time that ripped through our house the entire month of September!!) Nevertheless, the party went great! We had it the next day after her actual birthday.

Anyway, I digress...Parker's party was a hit! Her little friends seemed to really enjoy it (although they didn't know as much CWACOM trivia as I thought they would...heehee), and Parker was beaming the whole day. When asked at the end of the day what her favorite part was...after all the hours of planning and executing...it was jumping on the trampoline with her best friends. So sweet, right? Puts it all back into perspective.

| Parker is always so funny with pinatas...she only picks up 2 or 3 pieces of candy and is happy with that...she doesn't have that same killer instinct that some kids have I guess. I had to help some of the girls load their bags because they too were all so polite about it. |
I can't believe my baby girl is five years old! I have always believed that they are babies until they turn 5, and then they become little girls. We are onto a new phase of life now...sigh. Although when you ask her how old she is, she insists she is still four. (She says that her voice isn't deep enough to be a five year old...this is how her little mind thinks...classic Parker...haha!!) She is in a bit of denial. I think I am too. You can be four as long as you want, Miss P...as long as you want.
