Maryn painted faces for the annual Zoo Day at the Saginaw zoo again this year, so Parker and I tagged along and enjoyed a day at the zoo, too!

More of Summer 2016

Maryn and Avery were involved in the tech crew for MCFTA's production of
Frankenstein. It was a great show and the technical side of things was actually one of its greatest strengths, so I know they got a lot of good experience.

We had a birds nest in one of our front porch hanging plants...it was fun to watch it evolve over the summer.

Taking the girls to the library is always a given during the summer.  This is what a trip induces:

Summer Fun

The girls have had a good summer!  We've gone to the Sanford Beach, we've gone to see the movie in a fancy theater that had reclining seats, and we got to go to the Temple.  It's been busy, but good!

The girls also had a sleepover one night in Maryn's bed.  Interesting how the little sister got the "best" spot of the bed!

4th of July

This year for the 4th, we decided we wanted to go for a boat ride.  We traveled down to the Huckleberry Railroad at Crossroads Village to climb aboard an old-fashioned steam boat.  It was a beautiful day and the river was so peaceful and a great way to celebrate the holiday.

The older two always love taking a ride on the carousel. I, on the other hand, am much more comfortable on the ground.

We always enjoy walking around the little village and looking inside the homes. It's so interesting to see how people lived a couple centuries ago.

Avery getting caught "red-handed" stealing some raspberries right off the bush!

Everytime we go, we always come home wanting to can and bake more.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the beautifully organized jars of goods they display...??

The "Parker" carousel, fastest in the county!  Seriously, hold onto your hats!

Because of the holiday, they had some carnival games set up for the families.  This was a hoot! Especially the sack races.

Parker took a minute to write a thank-you card to our military and service people who do so much to sacrifice for our great country.

This magic show was hilarious.  Parker got called up from the audience to assist, and it was hysterical.

This was us at the church watching the fireworks that evening.  It was a great holiday this year!
