Memorial Day 2017

Each year, Maryn has to perform in the Memorial Day parade so we have started to make it a tradition--I must say it's something that we all look forward to. The bands are excellent, and it's fun to see everyone dressed up in patriotic colors.

After the parade, we came home and got started planting our garden. Here's Parker helping "earn her keep."

Tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, and some cauliflower/broccoli. We'll see how this goes!!

We had a yummy grilled dinner of shish-kebobs...nothing like grilling on a holiday!

It's definitely a work in progress...

Isn't this pose called "The Thinker?"

May Moments and Mother's Day

May is such a blessing. After such a long winter, it's such a pleasure to have spring weather and fun things to look forward to.

Someone surprised me with this sweet May Day gift. It came at the perfect time as I was feeling pretty down and missing my Mom on this special day. I'm so grateful for ministering angels.

Parker was all dressed up for her friend's birthday party, and decided to pose with the book that Maryn made her. This is such a sweet gift that I hope she treasures forever.

Mother's Day is a little bittersweet these years. After losing Mark's mom and then my Mom, and feeling a bit like I'm not the Mother I expected to be, it's hard to always feel like I want to celebrate.
My girls and Mark totally nailed Mother's Day this year--they made me laugh until my cheeks hurt. It was a welcome distraction from the sadness I was feeling and absolutely melted my heart. I love these girls and my husband so much!!

This was the treat that Mark put together for the sisters in our Ward for his calling in the Bishopric.
The girls did recreations of some of my favorite pictures from the past. I LOVED THIS!!

Parker's School Carnival, 1st Grade

Siebert Elementary has a spring carnival each year, and this was lots of fun! Parker's 1st grade year has been great and is quickly coming to an end. We love this girl so much and are so happy she's ours!
