Avery Learns to Ride a Bike

"She's just learning to ride a bike now?" you might be asking yourselves. We have to all keep reminding ourselves that she's only 6. Training wheels up until now have been perfectly respectable right? Well, sort of. Anyway, she had long outgrown her training wheels and her bike. She actually learned to ride on Maryn's bike from Christmas. Now we just need to get her her own set of wheels.

But she did it! And she did well. She was pretty emotional about the whole thing...gotta love that girl. If Mark tried to help too much, she got mad. If we didn't help enough, she got mad. Eventually she figured it out and did it and we all went home breathing a little sigh of relief. (Mostly that the crying was over actually.)

Hooray for Avery!! Another milestone down.

Sorry it's sideways, folks. I'm still figuring this whole video thing out. And yes, I know she should have been wearing a helmet and not flip-flops. At least I remembered the elbow and knee pads though!

One more of life's necessary examples in the art of growing up : The passage from walking to riding ! Now all new boundaries must be set, all new safety requirements must be reviewed, all new responsibilities must be outlined; it's way more than simply learning to ride a bike !

Such a lot of Avery happiness in these last two posts !

Exciting times for Avery. That's awesome. Tell her good job from us.
Wow - look at all that wide open space in the sideways video. Makes me remember one of my favorite Dixie Chicks songs - before they got all political.
