Spring Break '15

So what to do with three girls for a week off from school...what to do...what to do?!?

1.  Go down to visit Grandma and Grandpa...sorry no pics of them, but this is where it was finally confirmed that Avery has finally passed me up by about .5 inches.  (I'm over it.  It's fine.  She's still growing, so there's no sense denying it anymore.) But still...What the?!?

2.  Go shopping with the big girls!  On this particular trip, we have the wind to thank for our lovely hairstyles.

3.  Go to the museum!  We went to our local Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Technology and saw a neat exhibit on Leonardo da Vinci.  It was a fun day!

Avery said, "Spring Break in the Tundra, 2015!"

4.  Go shopping again...this time the Saginaw Mall with Maryn's friend, Katherine.  Parker and I kept a safe distance from them, so no pics of them, but a couple of my little BFF.

5.  A trip to Dow Gardens. We just love this place. This time of year they host the Butterfly Exhibit, and it's always a spring favorite!

6.  Go bowling!  Maryn and some of her buddies wanted to go bowling, so Avery, Parker, and I tagged along.  Guess who won the game?

7.  Surprise your kids with a trip to the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth for a night of swimming and fun!

Hooray for Spring Break!

Easter Dresses

Pretty little Parker Faye

Our tall tween-age Avery Jane

Doesn't Parker's expression just crack you up?  She knows she looks good.  Haha!

Maryn Elizabeth looking lovely

Beautiful Brown girls

Sometimes they just look so sweet, don't they?  I just love this tradition of ours.  I hope this is one they remember and maybe even do too.

Easter '15

This year was a continuation of our traditions.

We dye the eggs,

we have the "hunt",

we get baskets filled with treats and books (this year a movie too),

and the girls get an Easter dress.

For Easter dinner, we usually have ham, cheezy potato casserole, deviled eggs, veggies, etc.

For dessert this year, I decided to whip up my Nana's famous Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting.  It was to DIE for!

We are definitely adding this to the list of traditions!

A little change never hurt anyone, right?

I guess that's what I was thinking when I went from this...

to this!!

Maryn got a little trim too, and seems pretty pleased with the results!

7th Grade Girl's Volleyball

...has taken over our lives.  But...Avery loves it, and it's been a lot of fun to watch her games and see her improve over the season.  Their team rocks!  They have won almost all of their games, and I am so impressed!  And can you believe Avery's jersey number this season?!?  Coincidence?  I think NOT!!  Haha!  Anyway, the season finally ended this past week (March 25) and I know that Avery will miss her teammates, but I'm kind of looking forward to our lives getting back to normal.  She did great though, and we are so proud of her diligence with practicing, getting her homework done after LONG away games, persistence with not giving up, and having great sportsmanship.  She's #1!!

Goooo Huskies!!

Why can't things like this happen more often?!?

Can't wait for the next time!!
